Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Grant

 

SSVF is a flexible rental assistance grant designed to provide veterans and their families with rapid housing stabilization and support. SSVF can be used to provide 1x or ongoing assistance (up to 9 months) for either placement into housing from homelessness or for eviction prevention. Participants receiving ongoing assistance are paired with a case manager. Case managers will help clients address housing barriers and work towards the goal of housing self-sufficiency, either  through  income development or through connection to a longer-term housing subsidy (like VASH).

Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Shallow Subsidy Grant

 

SSVF Shallow Subsidy is a flexible rental assistance grant designed to provide veterans and their families with housing stabilization and support. SSVF Shallow Subsidy provides an ongoing 50% rent subsidy (based on either FMR or Rent Reasonability of the unit) for up to 24 months. Case managers will help clients address housing barriers and work towards the goal of housing self-sufficiency, either  through  income development or through connection to a longer-term housing subsidy (like VASH).

Rapid Rehousing (RRH) Ongoing Assistance Grants

 

Rapid Rehousing is a limited-duration intervention designed to help individuals and families quickly exit homelessness and return to permanent, stable housing. RRH funding can be classified as 1x or Ongoing assistance. Participants receiving Ongoing Rapid Rehousing assistance will receive short to medium-term rental assistance (up to a maximum of 24 months) and will be paired with a case manager for support. Case managers will help clients address housing barriers and work towards the goal of housing self-sufficiency, either  through  income development or through connection to a longer-term housing subsidy (like PSH or Section 8). Assistance duration is tied to a participant’s engagement with the program but cannot exceed a total of 24 months.

Rapid Rehousing (RRH) One-time Assistance Grants​

Rapid Rehousing is a limited-duration intervention designed to help individuals and families quickly exit homelessness and return to permanent, stable housing. RRH funding can be classified as 1x or Ongoing assistance. 1x assistance is used for participants who have the ability to rapidly take over rent payments after they have been placed into housing. Participants receiving RRH 1x assists will not receive ongoing case management support and are not guaranteed any assistance extending beyond what is specifically outlined in the promissory letter from TPI.

Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Rental Assistance Grant

 

Permanent Supportive Housing is a type of intervention that combines ongoing rental assistance with case management support services. PSH is designed to serve chronically homeless individuals who have substantial barriers to gaining and maintaining housing. Case managers provide resource referrals and advocacy to help participants resolve housing barriers and achieve long-term stability. The assistance provided is not term-limited and ends when a participant is able to take over their own rent or is exited from the program for non-compliance.
